Fishing Competitions

Each year the OCBC holds three fishing competitions which are fundraising events for our Orere Point community.

 

These are held on the Sunday of three long weekends across the year:

• Labour Weekend– October

• Auckland Anniversary Weekend  - January

• Easter Weekend

 

Fishing can start from 6.00am and the weigh-in closes around 2.00pm. This is followed by a prizegiving and then a generous auction of the fish caught.

 

The OCBC even has filleters on hand to make the whole process painless and as clean as a whistle for you, and you just don’t get fresher fish folks.

 

There is a range of great food available, including the famous Orere Point mussel fritters which are indeed things of beauty.
